NEOFLUX™ 220 – Drossing and Cleaning Flux for Magnesium and other aluminium alloys
NEOFLUX™ 220 is designed for use with most casting alloys, with the exception of alloys having high magnesium content.
NEOFLUX™ 220 powder flux catches and slag aluminium oxides and other non-metallic inclusions present in the melt.
Under covered melting conditions NEOFLUX™ 220 is added as soon as a liquid bath has formed. Afterwards further metal is added.
Under open melting conditions NEOFLUX™ 220 is added onto the ensuing dross after completion of the melting process and stirred thoroughly until the desired loose consistency of the dross has been achieved. After the reaction is complete the dross should be carefully removed using an appropriate skimming tool.
